Google becomes the third-tier official supporter of Tokyo Olympics 2020. This is the first time the search engine giant is engaging with the international tournament.

The Tokyo 2020 president, Yoshori Mori commented in his statement, “We are delighted to welcome Google, a company which provides various services including internet search, online maps and language translation, as an official supporter. With their support, we expect the Tokyo 2020 games, which will attract people from all over the world, to generate even more excitement.”

The internet moghul opened its first international office in Tokyo back in 2001.

The additional of the Google brings to 64 of the total number of domestic partners for Tokyo 2020, whose organizers have already amassed a record 3.1 billion in domestic sponsorship revenue.

The games domestic marketing program includes 15 top-tier gold partners, 32 second-tier official partners, and 17 third tier official supporters, one of which has a deal that covers the Paralympic.
