We aren’t much aware of what we are eating and its nutritional value. We mostly prefer to eat things just to satisfy our taste buds.

There are many food items that might be suggested poor for our health that comes with a lot of extra calories and less nutritional value. In the wake to live healthily and fit all across our life,  we should mark some food as bad ones and some as good ones. Well, to ease your search about good and bad food items, we have enlisted a few food items that we have been consuming for long without considering their nutritional value, all thanks to our taste buds.

Here are 20 food items that you should avoid adding to your diet:

1. Fruit canned in syrup:

Fruit canned are full of sugary syrups. Excess of anything is bad. Fruits are quite sweet on their own. So you can have them directly and enjoy its natural taste.

2. Vegetable shortening:

Vegetable shortening includes artificial fats that are also known as hydrogenated oils to make food solid room temperature. And that’s why it’s not good for consumption. This can cause bad cholesterol and lead you to risk of heart disease.

3. Non-dairy coffee creamer:

This product also contains hydrogenated oils or artificial fats. Also, non-dairy coffee creamer includes artificial sweeteners. So avoiding this food item will help you improve your health.

4. Diet soda:

Diet soda

Diet soda contains artificial sweeteners that are worse than actual sugar. Artificial sweeteners cause cancer and gastrointestinal problems. All these symptoms can cause you diabetes.

5. Low-fat peanut butter:

It contains unsaturated fats. And when you consume low-fat peanut butter that reduces heart-healthy fats and comes with high sugar. Try to buy natural peanut butter that contains a little bit of salt, peanuts, and oil.

6. Tilefish:

Tilefish

Fish includes Omega3, DHA and EPA but there is a fish you should avoid. The name of this sea fish is tilefish. It is high mercury that can initially cause poisoning in your body if eaten in access to concentration. 

7. Sugary breakfast cereal:

Sugary breakfast cereals are always delicious. But it can be low in nutrition and can contain high refined carbohydrates that can drop your blood sugar level. And that can further cause you low in energy, higher cravings and mood swings. It is ideal to opt for a fiber-rich cereal. 

8. Non-organic strawberries:

Strawberries are highly contaminated with pesticides. Pesticides in our food can negatively impact our health too. This can further cause endocrine disrupters. However, it is more harmful to women and can cause thyroid problems and hormonal imbalance.

9. Salami:

Salami is perfect for your breakfast and lunch but unfortunately comes under the status of cured meat. Cured meat can cause several problems that include heart disease and hypertension. It also includes high saturated fats and sodium nitrates that can cause inflammatory compounds and end up leading you to become unhealthy.

10. Juice cocktail:

Juices are healthy but juice cocktails are not. They are added with sugar that adds unnecessary extra calories to your day. This will lead to disturbing your blood sugar level in your body. So, start your morning with 100% natural fruit juice.

11. Packaged donuts:

Packaged donuts come with refined carbohydrates that won’t give you more nutritional value. Generally, donuts are deep-fried that can raise bad cholesterol and reduces good cholesterol. Although it doesn’t give you much nutrition so you can avoid them for better health.

12. Pre-made dough:

It is high in artificial trans-fat also known as hydrogenated oils that can increase the risk of stroke and heart disease. So, avoiding consumption of pre-made dough is a way to reach better and good health.

13. Packaged butter-flavored popcorn:

Butter flavored popcorn contains artificial butter flavoring that can cause inflammation in your body. Packages butter-flavored popcorn comes under microwaveable bags that are packed with chemicals that is again unhealthy for you.

14. Instant noodles:

Instant noodles contain an extremely high amount of sodium and monosodium glutamate that comes with its own set of problems. Instant noodles can increase your hunger that can further cause you to eat you more and will end up leading you to weight gain.

15. Artificial sweeteners:

Artificial sweeteners are worse than typical refined sugar that can lead to unknown risk and an unhealthy impact on your body. Try natural sugars and avoid artificial sweeteners and all that stuff.

16. Table salt:

Table salts are generally striped and bleached of its natural minerals and contain high sodium that can further cause you inflammation. Try keeping Himalayan Salts or opt for Sea Salts on your dining tables.

17. Packaged gelatin:

Gelatins

Packaged Gelatins includes artificial sugar and flavorings that can harm your body in multiple ways. It also contains artificial colors known as carcinogens. A carcinogen is a key ingredient that can lead you to hyperactivity.

 18. Microwaveable rice:

Microwaveable rice

Microwaveable rice is easy to cook but contains high sodium. Consumption of sodium isn’t bad but taking it in huge amounts can lead you to become lethargic and weighed down.

19. Energy drinks:

Energy drink

Energy drinks might give you some relaxation for a moment but contains high added sugar and artificial flavorings. This can lead to cause you inflammation in your body.

20. The burgers:

The burgers are made up of complete synthetic items. Also, the burgers include a lot of flavor enhancers that are again unhealthy for you.

If you are not consuming these food items then it’s a better thing you were unknowingly doing earlier. But now you know why to avoid these food items.

Don’t run behind the flavors and taste. Your fitness and health are more important.
