The third camp of the 33rd Usha Junior Training Programme for Golf 2019 concluded today at Delhi Golf Club with Nishtha Salwan, Rabani Kaur, Amrita Das, Netra Suri, Mohammed Esa and Hiransh Singh taking away the maximum number of prizes across categories like Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Bunker, Long Drive and Playing competitions. 50 talented youngsters in the third camp were trained under the guidance of Mr. Vikram Sethi. Delighted at the skilful performance of talented youngsters, Mr. Vikram Sethi, said, “We witnessed some amazing talent and look forward to nurture young talented juniors. I am thankful to Usha International for supporting the programme and hope to continue this wonderful partnership to identify and train world class golfers from India.” Over the years, the Programme has earned a reputation of being the training ground of world class professional golfers including the likes of Shiv Kapur, Daniel Chopra, Rashid Khan, and Gauri Monga, who are past participants of JTP.

The 33rd Usha Junior Training Programme is divided into four 10-day camps starting May 13, May 23, June 2, and June 12, respectively. All participating kids will be trained on the different aspects of the game under the guidance of well-known Category-A coaches, Ajay Gupta, Vikram Sethi, Nonita Lall Qureshi, and Jasjit Singh. Participants are segregated by their level of ability – Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced. A daily 2-hour session covers different aspects of the game – Long Drive, Putting, Chipping, Bunker, and Pitching, as well as the basic rules and etiquettes of the game. Each camp concludes with a prize distribution ceremony where participants are awarded according to age and ability across all disciplines. While the programme is a way of discovering and nurturing promising youngsters, the nature of the game teaches them concentration, focus, goal setting, conflict resolution, and leadership skills, lessons that serve them well beyond the greens. All of this aligns to Usha’s commitment to help improve the quality of life for youth through sports and skill development activities.

Usha International supports numerous sports and related tournaments in the country including Ultimate Flying disc, Cricket League, Amateur Golf,  Deaf Cricket,  Blind Sports (Athletics, Kabaddi, Judo and Powerlifting), and Football.
