With the release of Merlin Ball, Nike is celebrating its 20 years old association with Premier League.

The new season Merlin Balls are said to be inspired by the urban landscape of England’s city, adorned with black colorblocked graphics that feature pattern taken from Nike air sneaker in pink, grey and black on its white base. The Merlin edition features All Conditions Control (ACC) technology called Urban Grip, which improves the traction on all surfaces in any condition.

GM for Global Equipment, Kieran Ronan said in a press release, “We wanted to design a ball that specifically illustrated the traits of Premier League football .. a ball that felt hyper-technical  and precise in nature but also inspired by this English culture of living and breathing football.”

As a result, Merlin ball is a combination of vibrant fan culture of English Football and its energetic nature.

The Merlin Ball is comprised of just four fuse-welded components that create a bigger sweet spot for improved accuracy, control and range, while Aerowtrack grooves give the ball steadier flight path when travelling through the air.

The Merlin Ball will be available online from 4th July on Nike’s website.
