Marking 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, EKA Club by TransStadia organised the TransStadia Plog Run.
Encouraging fitness and spreading environmental awareness amongst the people of Ahmedabad TransStadia Plog Run served a dual purpose.
The event supported our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi’s vision for ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’ and ‘Fit India’.
Through the Fit India Movement, the effort was to organize Fit India Plog Run in multiple locations across the country, with corporates, schools, institutions, municipal corporations, and panchayats joining in to organize these runs.
The event saw lakhs of participants all across India and made it a huge success with a count for events reaching beyond 8500+.
EKA Club by TransStadia joined the movement by organizing its event at EKA Club in Ahmedabad with participation from old and young alike.
This 2.1 km plog run started at 9:00 am as participants picked up plastic and other litter from the road while jogging towards the destination from an assigned start point.
The team of Solid Waste Management, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) also graced the event by their presence and helping others with the plogging run.
Harshadray Solanki, director of Solid Waste Management AMC, Sarang Modi, Assistant Director Solid Waste Management AMC and their team joined in spreading the message of the importance of cleanliness and hygiene with the other participants.
The team of TransStadia as they achieved enlightening a mass of responsible citizens of India with the importance of taking the charge in keeping their neighbourhood litter-free.
Together, when every Indian does there bit, a clean and green India is not far away.
The event was a part of the initiative, Fit India Plog Run, taken by the Hon’ble Minister (State) of Youth Affairs & Sports (I/C) Shri. Kiren Rijiju, and it was executed with a motto of ‘Running for Fitness + Picking for Environment’.
