The Brand endorser of Under Armour’s Golf line of shoes, Jordan Speith has unveiled the latest version of his signature Golf Shoe on Tuesday, a light weight designed shoe that he wants to put on while hitting the gym.

The Newly designed shoe will be on sale by Friday this week. Working closely with Mike Forsey who is the Under Armorus’s principal golfer and designer and developer, Speith narrated on the company’s website  his part of role while curating and developing the design of the new sneaker.

He said he wore a test pair of the Spieth 3 shoes at the Mayakoba Golf Classic last month.

“Growing up, I didn’t put as much thought into my golf shoe and what makes one better than the other,” Spieth wrote. “I hadn’t considered it as a way to create an advantage from the ground up… I decided that as someone who doesn’t like any distraction on the course, I would give the project my all so that once the shoe became part of my equipment, I didn’t have to give it a second thought.”

The idea for the Spieth 3 emerged while finalising the Spieth 2, the three-time Major champion said.

“Forsey and his team had come to my house to show the final Spieth 2 prototype,” he said. “We were sitting at my kitchen table when I got an idea that would help me explain my thought process. I ran to my closet and grabbed the UA trainers that I always wear to the gym. I remember saying to them, ‘This is how I want the Spieth shoe to feel, like I don’t have anything on my feet.’”

In order to offer same vibes to the shoes users, designers have incorporated the same custom woven fabric which was used in the speith 2 to the latest version of the shoe, which subsequently deliver it sheer stability, making it the lightest weight version to date.

The designing team also allied with J.J Rivet, a biomechanist at the European Tour Performance Institute and an expert on how a golfer’s body moves during the golf swing, to help improve  shoe traction. “Traction is what separates golf footwear from street shoes,” helping the golfer bring more power to the ball at impact, Forsey said in an announcement.

The shoe will sell for $199.99 at UA.com, UA Brand Houses and retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy.
