ICC ODI rankings are out now, Babar Azam holds the top spot. While Indian Star Batter and Ex Captain of India in Limited over, Virat Kohli retains the second spot in the charts. ODI Skipper and Muscler Rohit Sharma has retained his 3rd spot in the list, despite being away from the recent tour due to hamstrings injury.

Virat Kohli, who was sacked as India’s captain before the tour of South Africa, hit two fifties but India ended up losing the ODI series 0-3, suffering a clean sweep for the first time in an ODI series in the Rainbow Nation. Kohli hit 116 runs at a strike rate of less than 80 across 3 matches in South Africa. Shikhar Dhawan top-scored for India with 169 runs across 3 matches.

While Pakistan captain Babar Azam continues to lead the batting charts, Dhawan moved up to the 15th spot after a productive series in South Africa. Rishabh Pant, who his his highest ODI score of 85 in the 2nd ODI, has up by 5 places to 82nd.

South Africa batters Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen made huge gains after playing a key role in helping the hosts win the ODI series.

In ICC ODI Rankings , De Kock is in the top five for the first time since the World Cup in 2019 after aggregating 229 runs that included a match-winning 124 in the final match in Cape Town. The wicketkeeper-batter has moved up four places after his Player of the Series effort.

Focussing on bowlers there is lesser change in the spots and slots by the players. In the bowling charts, Jasprit Bumrah has retained the No. 7 spot in the bowling charts. South Africa’s bowlers too have significant gains in Wednesday’s update. Fast bowler Lungi Ngidi is back in the top 20 after five wickets in the series and spinner Keshav Maharaj is at a career-best 33rd position. Andile Phehlukwayo is up seven places to 52nd after taking six wickets in the series.
