Addressing the joint sitting of the two Houses of Parliament in New Delhi today, the president said the new government has decided to widen the spectrum of the ‘Khelo India Program’ to cover the entire country.

Under the program, 2,500 talented players have been selected and are being trained. The President said that this facility will be provided to 2,500 new players every year.

The president said, it was important to unearth the talents from across country and their selection process made transparent in order to make India a global sport powerhouse.

The president also stressed the importance of strengthening the existing infrastructure in the country and said the government is working in that direction. He also added, “It was our endeavor that our players win high accolades in sports worlds and enhance the prestige of the country.”
