In the 3rd T20I of the India Women tour of Bangladesh in 2023, Bangladesh emerged victorious in an exhilarating encounter at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on July 13. India won the toss and elected to bat first but struggled against the strong Bangladeshi bowling attack, managing to score 102 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian captain, top-scored with 40 runs, supported by Jemimah Rodrigues with 28 runs. The Bangladeshi bowlers, particularly Rabeya Khan with three wickets and Sultana Khatun with two wickets, impressed with their performance.

Chasing a target of 103 runs, Bangladesh displayed determination and composure throughout their innings. Opener Shamima Sultana played a crucial role, scoring 42 runs, while Nigar Sultana and Sathi Rani contributed 14 and 10 runs, respectively. With valuable contributions from other batters, Bangladesh successfully reached the target with 10 balls to spare, securing a comprehensive 4-wicket victory.

Although Minnu Mani and Devika Vaidya stood out with two wickets each for India, their efforts were not enough to prevent Bangladesh from clinching the win. The match provided an exciting contest between bat and ball for the crowd at the Shere Bangla National Stadium. This victory allowed the home team to avoid a series whitewash after India had won the previous two T20Is. The series concluded with a 2-1 scoreline in favor of India, who had registered victories in the first two games.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian skipper, was honored with the ‘Player of the Series’ award for her consistent performances throughout the 3-match T20I series. The two teams will now face each other in a three-match ODI series starting on July 16, which will also take place at the Shere Bangla National Stadium and will be part of the 2022–2025 ICC Women’s Championship.
