HCL Technologies just signed a deal with Cricket Australia, the administrative body of Australian Cricket. Financial details of the deal are yet to be public.

Under the agreement, HCL will try to engage more fans, cricketers, fans, employees and volunteers through digital experience across the country and around the world.

HCL will work towards building a digital core eco-system for Australian cricket, including properties such as Cricket Australia Live App, cricket.com. au, bigbash.com.au, and community cricket applications  such as MyCricket and community.cricket.com.au.

The Executive vice president and country manager, Australia and New Zealand, Micheal Horton said, “We are thrilled to partner with cricket Australia and believe that this partnership will serve as a blueprint for organizations worldwide who are exploring technology platforms that scale existing value chains into eco-system centric business models, resulting in inspiring and exceptional experiences.”

Cricket market in Australia is a lucrative field. During the 2018-19 seasons, more than two million fans attended to watch cricket matches. The sport of cricket has a fan following of 2.5 billion globally.

Digitally, Cricket Australia’s fan following grew up to 20 million globally. Australia has maintained its number one sports destination throughout the summer, achieving a record unique Australian audience of 28.7 million in January 2017 alone.
