This year THE FITEXPO INDIA – Eastern India’s biggest Sports, Fitness & Wellness Festival concluded after 3 days of unparalleled Sports & fitness fervor that the city has ever experienced.

The magnitude, activities and the participation of athletes & enthusiasts created a history of sorts for the city.

With more than 150 Exhibitors; 50 sporting disciplines including Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, Martial Arts, Gatka, MMA cage fights & Rural sports, Dance Fitness Formats; Prize money of over 10 lakhs as well as 1200 Trophies & Medals at stake and more than 6000 performers, competitors, judges & officials involved AND 40000+ visitors made for an enthralling spectacle.

It was a unique event not only in the history of Kolkata but in the country as well in as much as  Expos so far have mostly focused on Trade & exhibition but Sports & Fitness competitions at this scale combined with an Expo was an unparalleled happening at THE FITEXPO INDIA.

The vision of the Founder & Chief Convener of THE FITEXPO INDIA Mr Gagan Sachdev was to start a Movement on Sports & Fitness.

Rural Sports and SHE POWER Sports excellence awards were included to make it inclusive and presence of VITA FOODS to focus on healthy eating made the event holistic.

There were seminars on Weight management; pain & posture; Diabesity; Fat loss to spread awareness about lifestyle diseases, conducted by Master Trainers & Specialists in their fields. “I want the message of fitness to reach every home in India” said Mr Sachdev. “FITEXPO would like to spearhead the FIT INDIA movement in this region”

The platform provided an opportunity to traditional Martial Art forms like Gatka – Sikh Martial Art; Shaurya Gadha Yuddh – traditional Indian Martial Art apart from the competitions held on Kalahi, Grappling, Kickboxing, Traditional & full contact Karate etc.

A major attraction which had hundreds of youngsters dancing all day long were the different forms of fitness dances including Zumba, Bombay Beats & Masala Bhangra by National Stars.

The Sangram Classic National Championship held its East India Championship under the watchful eye of Mr. Universe Sangram Chowgule, with the aim of providing upcoming youngsters a chance to show their mettle. But the highlight of the competition was the category for the differently abled which was highly inspirational and showed that with grit and determination anything is possible.

The Artificial Wall-Climbing area became a special attraction for the general public to attempt and understand their endurance & capacity. Cycling, Skating and B-Boying Stunt performers mesmerized the crowds by their Jaw dropping performances. Various Sports association for sports like Kho Kho, Kabbadi, Fencing, Volley ball held tournaments and gave exposure to athletes from rural areas. It also proved to be a meeting ground for the Sports Associations and the various Sports Brands.

While the athletes in Strongman & Power lifting competition awed the visitors with the sheer dis    play of strength, the Circuit training athletes showed what endurance & stamina is all about. Kettlebell demonstrations & competitions kept people hooked by the extreme resilience showed by participants.

The presence of Sporting & Fitness icons like Kai Greene, Bhaichung Bhutia, Manoj Tiwari, Kaizzad Capadia & Sangram Chowgule electrified the atmosphere at the venue.

Immensely popular film star & MP from Bengal Dev Adhikari who is also known for his passion for fitness, was present at the Inaugural ceremony as Guest of Honor; along with the Honorable Minister of Sports, Md. Zahid Ahsan Russel from Bangladesh.

The FITEXPO management teams also involved various schools & colleges in the event so that the youngsters could get an exposure to the various facets of fitness.

More than 500 Trade visitors, dealers & distributors from all parts of the country visited the Expo, met the Exhibitors of sports & fitness products & services & made deals running into Crores during these 3 days

The event was publicized for months through various media like Print, hoardings & Digital. This ensured participation from various parts of the country and also ensured the presence of our neighboring countries of Nepal, Bhutan & Bangladesh. The best part about the entire campaign was the fact that enthusiasts spread the word and generated interest voluntarily.

The 3rd edition of THE FITEXPO INDIA – Eastern India’s biggest Sports, Fitness & Wellness Festival ended on Sunday the 8th Dec 2019 at Science City.
