Tata Motors fuels up Indian Wrestling

Tata Motors’ Commercial Vehicles Business Unit (CVBU) announced a three-year partnership with the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) as “Principal Sponsor’.

The three years deal which is brought in by one of leading India’s leading sports business companies Sporty SolutionZ is meant to encourage and promote Indian wrestling. The partnership which begins with the 2018 Asian games scheduled in Jakarta and Palembang will continue till 2021 including the world championships, world cup 2020 Olympic Games in addition to other national and international wrestling events.

Celebrating the merger of Tata motors and WFI, the new official Tata Yodha jersey was launched by the country’s prominent wrestlers including Olympic medallists Sushil Kumar, Olympic medallists Yogeshwar Dutt and other wrestlers in front of the top officials of both Tata Motors CVBU and WFI.

The partnership is one of the major non-cricket sports- brand partnerships in the country, and Tata Motors is going rope in beyond just sponsorship by not only promoting the game but also encouraging as well as developing young rising talents to achieve their aspiration. Tata Motors continues to follow its heritage of promoting talents and sporting athletes across India and overseas.

Being a sports enthusiast company, Tata Motors has been associated with several sports events such as in cricket, IPL Kabaddi (UP Yodha) and Football (Jamshedpur FC)

While Speaking on the occasion Mr. Girish Wagh, President, Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, “Today, sports with the energy and dynamism is seen as a major platform for brands to connect with people across India – both masses as well as classes. It should be noted that for the next three years, Tata Motors has the licensing right to support athletes going for Olympics, Asian Games and other national and international games. Moreover, Tata Yodha will participate in all major wrestling fixtures including Commonwealth games, World Cup, Asian Games, National and Internationals games.
