DSPORT to telecast The Augusta Masters live in India

The Discovery Communication owned Sports Broadcasting channel DSPORT will continue to telecast The Augusta Masters Live exclusively in India for the second time in row. The Legendary tournament, The Augusta Masters entering into its 83rd edition will be heal at its home i.e. Augusta National Golf Club course  in Georgia, USA from 11th April 2019.

Having six titles wins under his belt, The Legendary Jack Nicklaus still tops the list of winner of this Tournament. The Tournament also has been won by Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer who have made it to four times. Four Indians have played The Masters so far with Shubhankar Sharma being the latest to join the elite group when he accepted an invitation to play in the 2018 edition.

The Broadcasters spokesperson has stated in a statement,”DSPORT continues with its endeavor to bring the world’s best Golfing action to audiences and fans in India, recognizing the growing popularity and potential of the sport in the country. Last year we followed young Indian golfing star Shubhankar Sharma’s Masters debut live and hope more young talent like him and the likes of Gaganjeet Bhullar and Anirban Lahiri get inspired and unearthed by watching the world’s best golfers in live competition action said a company release. Traditionally the only Major which is an invitational tournament, The 2019 Masters presents a small but talented field of the world’s top professional golfers. Keith Mitchell became the latest to get a Masters invitation after his win in the Honda Classic last week,”

This year’s Masters will also see the par-4 fifth hole, known as Magnolia, lengthened by a further 40 yards. The legendary Jack Nicklaus has won The Masters six times- the most by any individual.
