Many of us have reaffirmed our commitment to reaching our fitness objectives this year as the new year has just begun. But doing the same exercises over and over again can quickly get monotonous, cause desire to wane, and lead to a detour.

There are five less-common exercises on Instagram that we can implement in 2026 to enhance our overall exercise regimen.

1. Crawl

Basically, get down on all fours and cover a distance, adding that incorporating the exercise into a daily routine enhances overall body strength, stability, and mobility.

We can try various crawling techniques, including

  • The simplest kind of baby crawling
  • Inline crawling
  • The bear crawl
  • Crawling lizard
  • Spider-Man crawls.

2. Climbing stairs

We barely ever utilize the stairs, despite the fact that they are all around us. Stair climbing can be done as a stand-alone workout or just as a regular pastime.

The fitness coach advised, “But in any case, make sure that stair climbs are regular because they build strength, endurance, and a lot of resilience.”

3. A farmer carries

Farmer carries are easy: just pick up two heavy things, hold them at your sides, and walk. These may be bags, dumbbells, kettlebells, or whatever else you can find. Just make sure they weigh enough to challenge you at around 30 to 50 meters. The workout increases real-world core strength and grip strength.

4. Hanging dead

Simply hanging with our arms outstretched and allowing our body to dangle as dead weight is known as a dead hang.

The plank is to the push-up, and the hang is to the pull-up. Therefore, practicing the hang is essential if you want to increase your overall body strength and be able to perform pull-ups. The objective is to gradually increase your hanging time to 60 seconds.

5. Tib elevates

The exercise, also called tibialis anterior raises, is very similar to calf raises except that it strengthens the tibialis anterior muscle, which is located at the shins in front of our legs, rather than the calf muscles.

The goal is to balance the load that we put on our calves, which then makes the knees bulletproof.
