The Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) and Psych Hub, the premier platform for evidence-based behavioral health education, announced a collaboration to offer top-notch mental health and wellness tools to professional tennis players and their support teams.

By means of this partnership, the PTPA will provide athletes and their teams with free access to Psych Hub’s tailored digital training and resources, which are intended to tackle the distinct demands of life both on and off the court. The program further solidifies the PTPA’s dedication to the overall well-being of players and expands upon its innovative Mental Fitness Program.

“Mental fitness is every bit as important as physical fitness, particularly in high-performance spaces like professional tennis,” stated Scott Healy, CEO of Psych Hub. “Together with the PTPA, we are making evidence-based tools accessible, practical, and player-focused so athletes and their teams can thrive in their careers and lives.”

“This partnership reflects our commitment to building a culture of mental fitness in professional tennis,” stated Damon Valentino, Director of Mental Fitness at the PTPA. “By giving players and their teams access to world-class psychological tools, we’re not only addressing stress, anxiety, and burnout today — we’re prioritizing their long-term health, performance, and sustainability.”

Partnership highlights include:

  • Player Resources Hub: Complimentary access to a custom, co-branded Psych Hub platform featuring tailored resources on depression, anxiety, burnout, stress, and more.
  • Player-Centered Content: Exclusive access to PTPA and Psych Hub co-created resources developed specifically for the tennis community, including videos and materials on relevant topics such as social media harassment, manipulative relationships, and player safety.
  • Player Support Team Education: Complimentary access to Psych Hub’s Mental Health Ally certificate courses for coaches and player support team members.
  • Personalized Guidance: Topic-specific introductory materials from Damon Valentino, PTPA Director of Mental Fitness, to orient players to the program and reinforce why these resources matter.

“Players know firsthand how critical it is to have the right support system,” stated Vasek Pospisil, PTPA Executive Committee member. “This partnership ensures players can lean on trusted, evidence-based resources when we need them most.”

“Coaches carry the responsibility of guiding players not just through matches, but through the pressures that come with life on tour,” stated Hakan Dahlbo, professional tennis coach and president of the Professional Tennis Coaches Association (PTCA). “Thanks to the PTPA recognizing this need, we now have access to a broadened suite of industry-leading resources that help us spot when an athlete may be struggling and respond with knowledge and care. It’s an invaluable step in building stronger, healthier teams.”

A key component of the PTPA’s efforts to enhance player welfare is health and wellbeing. The group introduced PTPA MedNet, a first-of-its-kind worldwide player medical network, in 2024. The PTPA is now advancing innovation by providing more education and assistance through its Mental Fitness Program, which fortifies the connections between mental health and superior physical performance.
