The 2026 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will honor its racing heritage as part of its 75th commemoration.

The first Pebble Beach Road Race and the first Pebble Beach Concours took place simultaneously on November 5, 1950. Concours automobiles paraded down the racecourse’s start-finish straight after being displayed and evaluated in a field close to The Lodge at Pebble Beach.

“In truth, the Pebble Beach Concours owes everything to that race,” stated Concours Chairman Sandra Button. The race was clearly the main event, drawing crowds from far and wide. The concours was secondary—a last-minute addition to serve as a social gathering and add a bit of style.”

Sterling Edwards created the Pebble Beach Road Race in the hopes of winning with his brand-new Edwards R-26 Special Sport Roadster. Instead, a youthful Phil Hill in a Jaguar XK120 won the first Pebble Beach Cup. Hill later became the first World Drivers’ Champion in America. At the inaugural Pebble Beach Concours, Edwards won Best of Show, a separate honor.

Along with famous people like Jackie Cooper, these events featured a number of elite racers and constructors, including Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles, Richie Ginther, Bill Pollack, and Phil Remington.

Rob Manson, steward of the Del Monte Trophy Race Group, and Ken Gross, a member of the Concours Selection Committee, have organized a collection of Pebble Beach Road Racing legends for the 75th anniversary of the Pebble Beach Concours. They intend to mix the best models from manufacturers with legendary one-off specials.

On August 16, 2026, The Lodge at Pebble Beach will host the 75th Pebble Beach Concours, which will also feature a very unique event honoring legendary vehicle groupings that were initially assembled at the Concours. Later this month, tickets will go on sale, and in the days and weeks ahead, we will reveal further information and features.

Additionally, the Pebble Beach Concours and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion are collaborating to display Pebble Beach Road Race vehicles at Laguna Seca. And a detailed history of the Pebble Beach Road Races will be released later this year.
